Aspirin and alcohol are kindred spirits, in a way.
Aspirin and alcohol are both blood thinners. Unfotunately, when you mix the two together, you get a double dose of a potentially dangerous combo. Cut yourself or start bleeding in any manner (have you ever tried shaving hung over) and you will need your blood to coagulate.
The side effects of aspirin are the most disheartening for a hangover 'cure'. Like Tylenol (or acetaminophen) and ibruprofen, the bad effects of aspirin can be magnified with alcohol in your system and cause even more damage to your liver than those three martinis trying to get through. Ibruprofen can also cause stomach bleeding and gastrointestinal tract.
Propranolol is beta-blocker drug for hypertension that also is commonly used to relieve hangover pain. The bad news is, according to many studies, it just doesn't work.
Are you seeing a bad trend here with taking pills to alliveate the hangover? You should. They just don't get the medical seal of approval most think they deserve.
Taking an aspirin usually means you'll be drinking it with a glass of water. Make it a big glass of water and that aspirin at least got you hydrated.
